
Maggie Shook
Head Coach

Maggie has been the backbone of the COR Swim team since
1981. She is the club’s Head Coach and currently coaches the
Senior Swimmers. Maggie has coached Junior National Swimmers,
National Age Group Champions, TAGS Champions and numerous Top 16
swimmers.
Maggie has served extensively as a member of the USA Education
Committee and is currently serving on the USA Swimming Club
Development Committee.
Maggie has received the American Swim Coaches 'Age Group Coach of
the Year' for North Texas LSC. Over the years, she has served in
virtually every committee in the North Texas Local Swim Committee.
Maggie has been honored with a lifetime membership in USA
Swimming.
Maggie is from Grosse Pointe Michigan where she attended Michigan
State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in
Education and Child Development and continued her graduate
education at Texas Woman's University and also through continuing
educational clinics and programs.
Maggie resides in Richardson and has a large extended family in
Michigan and a brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew in
Richardson.

Brandon Jones
Head Age Group Coach

Brandon Jones returned to COR in the summer of 2008 as coach of the
Sharks Group. He has added many new A swimmers, TAGS Qualifiers,
TAGS Finalists and Nationally Ranked Swimmers to COR! Brandon
is now directing and overseeing COR's Age Group Program. His
strengths include coaching techniques, motivating swimmers, and
teaching kids the love of racing. Brandon's enthusiasm,
approach and sense of humor help to create a great atmosphere for
success.
Brandon swam for COR from 1983-1991 becoming a TAGS and Junior
Nationals Qualifier. He was also a member of the 1991-1992
Men's Swim Team at Texas Christian University (TCU). Brandon
originally coached for COR from September 1992 - 1999, being
mentored by Fernando Canales, former COR Head Coach current Head
Coach Colgate University, Jim Henry current Head Coach Yale, and
Head Coach Maggie Shook. During this time, he coached TAGS
Champions, 10&U Boys High Point Award Winners TAGS 1999,
National Top 16 Swimmmers & several COR Record
Holders. Brandon was also the Head Coach of Jesuit College
Preparatory School from 1993-1996, coaching Junior National, Easter
Prep Nationals, National Catholic & TCIL State
Qualifiers.
Brandon has a BBA in Marketing from The University of North Texas.
He lives in Richardson with his wife Christina and their two
children, Blake & Loryn.

Dan Hafner
Seniors Coach
Email
Dan Hafner is entering his 5th year coaching
swimming for COR. He has produced several new COR Record Holders as
well as Sectionals, Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals &
Olympic Trials Qualifiers. This will be his 5th year as J.J.
Pearce High School head swim coach.
Prior to COR and Pearce, he spent 2 years as the
the Senior Assistant Coach for Oakland Live Y'ers. There he
coached worked with numerous state, sectional, junior national,
senior national, and Olympic Trials qualifiers. Prior to Oly
he coached for 7 years at Pointe Aquatics in Grosse
Pointe,MI. There he oversaw the age group program and worked
with the senior level swimmers. Dan
coached swimmers of all ages includeing age group
state qualifiers to Olympic Trials Qualifiers.Dan was also an assistant
coach and assistant pool manager at the Lochmoor Club in Grosse
Pointe, Mi. While at Lochmoor Club the team had
won 8 straight MICSA championships.
Dan swam in college at Oakland University and the University of
South Carolina. He swam club for Bob Jenrow at Birmingham
Bloomfield Atlantis and High School for Darin Abasse at Birmingham
Groves. He graduated with a degree in Physical Education from Wayne
State University in Detroit, Mi. He finished his Masters in
Coaching and Athletic Administration in the fall of 2011.

Stacy Henderson
Senior Development Coach

Stacy Montague has been with COR since the spring of 2006
and is an Assistant Age Group Coach. She has been a competitive
swimmer since she was 5 years old. Throughout her life she swam for
the Germantown Swim Team (Germantown, Tennessee), LAC, and Irving
Swimmers. She also swam all four years on Coppell High
School’s Varsity swim team. Stacy competed in swimming at the
collegiate level at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. During
college, Stacy also served as the Assistant Coach for the Hendrix
Aquakids. In addition to overseeing and working with the Senior
Development group, Stacy is a Spanish Teacher at Garland High
School.

Rose Palmer
Age Group Coach
Email
Rose began swimming year round with COR swim team back in 1996. She
was familiar already to COR since both her brother and sister had
joined in 1992. She developed as a swimmer under Coaches Brandon
Jones and Maggie Shook, attending both TAGS and Sectionals meets
regularly during her swimming career with COR.
Rose also swam for Lake Highlands
High School (Dallas, TX) from 2003 to 2006 and represented the
Wildcats at the Texas 5A Districts, Regionals, and State meets. Her
swimming career continued when she was recruited to swim for the
College of Saint Rose (Albany, NY). She competed with both the
Northeast-10 Conference and the Metropolitan Conference. She
graduated in 2010 majoring in Business Administration with a
concentration in Sport Management.
Rose started coaching with the
Berkner neighborhood swim team from 2004 to 2006. She continued
gaining experience as an assistant coach for the Albany JCC Arrows
while in college. She also lifeguarded and taught swim lessons for
both the City of Richardson and the Albany JCC. Rose returned to
COR in 2010 as an age group coach and is currently working with the
Piranhas, Minnows, and Jumbos groups.

Laura Ring

Laura Ring returned to COR in
September of 2012. She began swimming at the age of 5 but
didn’t fully immerse herself into aquatics until she became a
competitive swimmer with COR in 1996. Laura continued
swimming in college for Henderson State University where she served
as team captain for 2 years. She received both athletic and
academic honors and served as president for the Student Athlete
Advisory Committee.
Swimming has always played a
positive and influential role in Laura’s life both as an
athlete and a coach. Since 1999, she has been coaching,
teaching and working in various areas of aquatics; including
coaching for COR in 2006 & 2007, working with the Minnows,
Piranhas and Sharks groups. Laura also spent time working as
the Swim Program Supervisor at Baylor Tom Landry Health and
Wellness Center in Dallas.
Laura has a Bachelors of Science
in Biology from Henderson State University in Arkansas. She
works with COR's Jumbo Shrimps, Minnows and P10 Groups. After
a few years away from coaching, Laura is happy to be back on the
pool deck and with the COR community again!

Erin J Ward
Age Group Coach
Email
Erin Ward has been with COR since the fall of 2011. She
is an Age Group Coach working with the Piranhas, Minnows &
Jumbo Shrimps Groups. Erin started coaching with the City of
Richardson's Neighborhood Swim Team for 4 years before becoming the
coordinator of the neighborhood swim team program for the next 5
years. Prior to coaching, she was a swimmer for JJ Pearce
High School.
Erin is currently working on her degree in Recreation & Leisure
Studies at the University of North Texas. There she is
serving as the President of the school's Recreation, Leisure &
Sport Society, and a reoccurring student on the President's List.
Aside of coaching and school, Erin the Special Events &
Aquatics Coordinator for the City of University Park.

Nathan L Chiu
Age Group Coach

Nathan began swimming
competitively in the summers while still in elementary school. From
there he found out about the COR swim team and began swimming year
round in 1997. On COR he developed as a swimmer and began regularly
attending TAGS and Zones meets.
While on COR, Nathan
also swam for Plano West Senior High from 2000 to 2004 and
represented the school at the Texas 5A state meet. His achievements
in high school lead to his recruitment to swim for the Denison
University men's swimming and diving team (Granville, OH) where he
competed as an NCAA swimmer in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
While in high school and college, Nathan began coaching summer swim
team and
teaching swim lessons
as a lifeguard.
In 2008, Nathan
graduated college with a double major in computer science and
economics. Later the same year, he returned to COR as a swim coach
assisting with age group level swimmers.
